Privacy Policy
This policy describes how Gacha Chord (the “App”) handles user information.
Effective date: August 2, 2026
Last updated: October 20, 2026 (added advertising and iCloud Backup)
1. Information We Collect
The developer does not collect any personal information. No account is required. We do not perform usage analytics or transmit crash reports.
However, the free version shows ads, and Google’s advertising service (Google AdMob) collects information in order to show them. See “5. Advertising” for details. Pro users see no ads, and the App makes no network connections for advertising for them.
2. Data Stored on Your Device
The following data is stored solely on your device. Neither the developer nor any third party can access or retrieve it.
- Chord progressions you create and save (name, chords, key, tempo, section markers, notes, tags, timestamp)
- Images and recordings attached to your songs
- Chords saved to favorites
- App settings (volume, timbre, playback style, display and notation settings, and so on)
This data is never transmitted to the developer’s servers. Deleting the App from your device also deletes this data.
Only if you use iCloud Backup (a Pro feature), the App saves this data (you choose whether to include recordings) to your own iCloud. It is stored in Apple’s iCloud, and the developer cannot access or retrieve it. Apple’s privacy policy governs how iCloud handles it.
3. In-App Purchase
The App offers a one-time purchase, “Gacha Chord Pro.”
Purchases are processed by Apple through the App Store. Payment details, such as credit card information, are handled entirely by Apple. The developer never receives this information.
The App uses Apple’s StoreKit framework to determine whether the product has been purchased. The only information consulted is whether this device holds a purchase of that product. No personally identifiable information is obtained.
For details on how Apple handles your information, please refer to Apple’s privacy policy.
4. Exporting and Sharing
The App can export MIDI files and card images of your chord progressions. You choose the destination — another app, cloud storage, social media, email, and so on — through the iOS share sheet. The developer is not involved in this process and has no knowledge of the file’s contents or destination.
If you choose “Save Image,” the card is saved to your device’s photo library. The App never reads your photo library and does not access your photos for any purpose other than saving.
Data handling by the receiving app is governed by that app’s own privacy policy.
5. Advertising
The free version shows a banner ad at the bottom of the screen. You can also increase the number of chord progressions you can save by watching a rewarded (video) ad; video ads are shown only when you tap the button yourself. Pro users see neither kind of ad.
Ads are served by Google AdMob, provided by Google LLC. When an ad is shown, Google may collect and use information such as:
- Your device’s advertising identifier (IDFA), only if you allow tracking
- Approximate location inferred from your IP address
- Device type, OS version, and usage data such as ad views and taps
This information is collected and managed by Google; the developer does not receive it. For details, see Google’s Privacy Policy and How Google uses information from sites or apps that use our services.
- Tracking permission: Before ads are shown in the free version, iOS asks once whether to allow tracking. You can still watch ads if you decline (they will not be personalized). You can change this later in iOS Settings → Privacy & Security → Tracking.
- Users in the EU, UK, and similar regions: As required by law, a consent screen is shown before ads. You can change your choice in the App under Settings → Ad Privacy Settings.
6. Disclosure to Third Parties
Because the developer collects no information, the developer discloses none to third parties. Advertising-related information is collected directly by Google, as described above.
7. Children’s Privacy
The App may be used by people of any age. Because the developer collects no personal information, it does not collect information from children.
8. Your Rights
The developer collects no personal information and holds no data subject to requests for access, correction, or deletion. You can permanently delete all on-device data yourself by uninstalling the App. For information Google holds in connection with ads, please contact Google as described in its privacy policy.
9. Changes to This Policy
If this policy changes, this page will be updated. We will note any significant changes in the App’s release notes.
